In the second of our 'Getting to know' blogs. We turn our attention to the North West department. Working from Warwick Mill, they support people across the whole of the Cumbrian Region. Donna W has recently been promoted to Service Manager and now is good time to get to know her more! We asked Donna a few questions....Enjoy!

What do you do at KEYFORT Group?
I oversee the day to day running of the North West Community service. My team manage people's care packages and staff teams to ensure they’re able to live life to the full. I have been with KEYFORT since 2017 and have held various roles such as Rota Coordinator and Support Coordinator.
"My focus is the quality of the service we provide and I believe that everyone deserves great care. I am committed and passionate about the people we support the great staff teams we have."
What’s your background?
Before working at KEYFORT, I was a Senior Support Worker in a children’s residential home working with emotional trauma and attachment difficulties. I have also worked in a school and in retail management. I have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care.

What’s is your favourite....
Book: My favourite book has always been ‘Anne of Green Gables’ by L M Montgomery
Food: I really like Halloumi but chocolate will always be my favourite food – Galaxy is the winner!!!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
When I am not working I like to spend time with my family. We have a busy household and we love going away on holiday as much as we can. I have really missed seeing friends this year and Saturday nights are often now spent on the phone to a friend, having a bottle of wine together and often planning more holidays.
Would you rather be a tiny elephant or a giant hamster?
Definitely a Tiny Elephant. They are loyal, strong and never forget. Small & Mighty!
What is your proudest moment at KEYFORT Group?
Being nominated and becoming a finalist for ‘The Home Care Co-ordinator’ in the Great British Care Awards was a great feeling. Care has been a difficult industry to be in this year and we have been working really hard to keep everyone safe so it was wonderful to feel appreciated. I am also proud of my recent promotion and the trust that has been given to me to manage the service. It is hard to choose single moments as we do small things each day that make a big difference and that’s what it’s all about.
Thank you to Donna for this! We can't wait to see the real difference Donna and her dedicated support team continue to make in the North West. through 2021.
